The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District forced Foster High School teacher Dale Woolverton to resign because he distributed factual information to students regarding Islam that CAIR complained about.  The school district:

  • Forced the teacher to resign within 24 hours without a thorough investigation. The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District issued a statement on April 14, 2015 that said in part “The District is still investigating the matter.”  CAIR filed the complaint on April 7, 2015.  Dale Woolverton resigned less than twenty four hours later on April 8, 2015.  But the school district is “still investigating the matter” because they did not have all of the facts before they forced Dale Woolverton to resign.
  • Did not consider the fact that the teacher had handed out other educational material without incident.  Dale Woolverton told KPRC AM 950 “This information was simply to give them a generalized idea of some of the mediums that are available on the internet. I use a great deal of due diligence when I do these types of things, Woolverton explained.   See 1190Talkradio.com report.
  • Had no problem in 2013 when a Social Studies teacher at George Ranch High School, calendared in the viewing of the Islamist friendly video 30 Days Living as a Muslim on February 7 and a Sharia Law class on May 13.  Breitbart.com reports:  Mike Rockford, Executive Director of Community Relations for the school district, again expressed his disappointment over Woolverton’s actions to Breitbart News, although he failed to mention that in 2013, a Social Studies teacher on another Lamar Consolidated ISD campus, George Ranch High School, calendared in the viewing of the Islamo-friendly video 30 Days Living as a Muslim on February 7 and a Sharia Law class on May 13.   Breitbart Texas reached out to Rockford on last year’s lessons and is awaiting a response.

Perhaps if the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District had not been so quick to please CAIR they would have performed a thorough investigation.  Such an investigation may have revealed that teachers, including Mr. Woolverton, have handed out educational materials in the past that were not always scrutinized by the district.  Additionally, they would have learned that other teachers have provided curriculum to students regarding Islam that many parents would not have approved of either.

Florida Family Association sent out email alerts that reported “Lamar school district appears to have forced teacher to resign after CAIR protested that he distributed factual information about Islam to students.”  The alert urged the school district to reinstate Dale Woolverton.  However, the school district has been unresponsive.

Florida Family Association has prepared an email for you to send to Lamar Consolidated School District board members given the above new information to urge them to reinstate Dale Woolverton.
