50 Republican Senators have signed on as co-sponsors of the SAVE America Act. Certainly the vote is close enough to pass the legislation with JD Vance making the 51st vote if they adopt Standing Filibuster.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune has refused to call for a standing filibuster to insure the SAVE America Act comes to closure for vote on the senate floor. Senator Thune said that a standing filibuster will disrupt the business of the Senate. He said that it would eat up valuable time that the Senate needs to approve the DHS budget.
Ironically, Democrats are using the silent filibuster rule to prevent approval of the DHS budget. The US Senate failed by a 51-45 vote to approve the DHS budget for a third time on March 5, 2026. The Democrats want to defund ICE as part of the DHS funding bill. Given the outrageous demands of Democrats it looks like the senate needs to deploy the Standing Filibuster to approve the DHS Budget.
Since Democrat US Senators continue to unanimously oppose passage of the SAVE America Act and funding ICE under the DHS budget and there are no other legislative options then GOP US Senators must adopt the Standing Filibuster rule to pass the legislation.
Some Republican US Senators claim they do not want to adopt the Standing Filibuster because they do not want Democrats to have that power if they gain control of the US Senate. However, Democrats tried to eliminate the filibuster in January 2022 and would have succeeded but for opposition by Senators Manchin and Sinema. Many top Democrats have proclaimed numerous times that they plan to abolish the filibuster if they take control of the senate so they can add more states to the union which means more liberal US Senators and add more liberal justices to the supreme court. We cannot stop that from happening in the future but what we can do is take advantage of the GOP holding the house majority, senate majority and white house to pass the SAVE America Act, DHS Budget and other important legislation.
The GOP has passed only ONE conservative bill, the One Big, Beautiful Bill, since Trump took office because the rules required only 51 votes. That's 13 months of NOTHING ELSE conservative. And there will be another minimum of 10 more months of NOTHING ELSE conservative this year with the filibuster governing the rules. That's TWO YEARS of NOTHING ELSE for conservative laws.
What is more important to protect the sanctity of United States elections from foreign invaders and fraudsters and enact other important conservative legislation or prevent Democrats from advancing their agenda when they’re not even in power? Ironically, allowing Democrats to kill the SAVE America Act via the filibuster is empowering their leftist and corrupt ideology.

I urge you to adopt the Standing Filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act and DHS budget. Democrats narrowly failed to cancel the filibuster in January 2022 and plan to kill it the first chance they get. You claim Standing Filibuster will slow down approving the DHS budget. Given Democrat demands the Standing Filibuster is needed to approve the DHS Budget. Please adopt Standing Filibuster to pass important legislation while you can.
