Good News.  Newsweek published an article titled:  Greg Abbott Says All Construction Halted for Muslim 'EPIC City.'  The article reports in part: 

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has said the state has stopped all construction on "EPIC City," a proposed Muslim-themed development backed by the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC).

On Sunday, Abbott said that his office had suspended the construction of EPIC City.

The governor wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Texas has halted any construction of EPIC City. There is no construction taking place. The state of Texas has launched about a half dozen investigations into this project. That includes criminal investigations.

"And, the U.S. Department of Justice is also investigating. This matter, and similar matters, are taken very seriously, and actions are being taken to address all concerns."

Florida Family Association launched the following FOUR email campaigns to counter the EPIC Muslim City.

Please thank Texas Governor Gregg Abbott for his stand against Sharia law that may be imposed by the East Plano Islamic Center at their proposed Muslim city and encourage Governor Abbott to continue to stand strong.

TEXAS Mayor gives radical mosque leaders special access to school board to ensure enforcement of so-called "Islamic values" ie Sharia law.

Please urge Texas COUNTY officials to take steps and prepare now to insure that the Muslim City planned by the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) does NOT enforce tenets of Sharia law that conflict with the United States Constitution.

Please urge the Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees, Superintendent and Deputy Superintendents NOT to succumb to the East Plano Islamic Center request to teach ‘Sharia based values.’

Florida Family Association’s four campaigns gave people the opportunity to send thousands of emails to 37 government officials to express concern regarding the East Plano Islamic Center Muslim City which would very likely have followed Sharia law.

Hopefully, any lawsuit that may be filed will not undo all the actions that have been taken to halt this Muslim only city.
