DeVry University, another large advertiser, drops from Al Jazeera America (aka Current TV).
DeVry University has stopped advertising on Al Jazeera America aka Current TV. DeVry was the third largest advertiser next to General Mills and Allstate. General Mills advertisements stopped appearing on the Aljazeera America channel after January 31, 2013. Allstate pulled their advertisements on February 13, 2013.
The first DeVry University advertisement was recorded on January 29, 2013. Their last advertisement was recorded on February 12, 2013. The Florida Family Association office sent the first emails to the CEO and President of DeVry University on January 29, 2013. The custom software that Florida Family Association uses to contact and track advertisers requires 10 days to pass between the first email and next email. This allows time for the advertisers to respond to the first email even though many ads may have aired during that ten day period. The Florida Family Association office sent the second emails to the CEO and President of DeVry University on February 11, 2013. The last advertisements for DeVry stopped on February 12, 2013.
Emails to advertisers attempt to influence them to stop spending American consumer dollars on this Muslim Brotherhood channel. The American consumer dollars given to Al Jazeera America for advertising are just as offensive as the affirmation that comes from America brands appearing on the channel.
Florida Family Association sent out an email alert on January 14, 2013 which reported that Al Jazeera, the Arabic news television channel headquartered in the Middle East (Doha, Qatar), purchased the Current TV channel which has the potential of reaching millions of viewers in the United States. Al Jazeera America is the new, tentative name for Current TV. Al Jazeera is the mouthpiece for the Muslim Brotherhood and Arab Spring. The Muslim Brotherhood is the single largest promoter of the radical Islamist movement in the world. Nothing less should be expected to come from Al Jazeera’s access to cable viewers in America.
The Florida Family Association office started contacting companies on January 16, 2013 that promoted their products on Al Jazeera America. The emails encourage companies “to put America first” by dropping their advertising. It also informs them that companies and their products that continue to advertise on this network will be posted to an article at Floridafamily.org and numerous activist web sites that are concerned about Al Jazeera's access to American television.
